Bew is a small-circle communication app for friends and families. The app is currently in private testing. This notice covers the Bew app and this website.

Account and login information

We use your verified Apple or Google account identifier to create or access your Bew account. Bew has its own user ID. We do not merge accounts just because their email addresses match.

Google Sign-In’s SDK requests basic email and profile access. It may receive your email, profile name and profile image address, query Google’s userinfo service, and temporarily retain login credentials in the device Keychain. We use a verified identity token for authentication; we do not automatically import your Google name or download your Google profile photo into your Bew profile. Google and Apple process sign-in under their own privacy policies.

You choose your Bew Name and Username. If you add an avatar or a recovery email, we process that information to provide the feature. A recovery email must be explicitly added and verified; a provider email is not automatically a Bew recovery credential.

Messages and your small circle

We process the voice messages, photos and expressions you choose to send, along with the sender, recipient, timing and read/listened status needed to deliver them. You choose the people you connect with. Your selected recipients can view or listen to what you send.

Voice transcription is designed to run on the sender’s phone. The audio is uploaded when you send a voice message, and an available transcript can be shared with that message. We do not use a cloud transcription fallback.

The current private-test version is not end-to-end encrypted. Account authentication and access controls limit access, but the service processes and stores message data. Please do not use message expiry as a guarantee that a recipient has not saved or copied a message.

Retention and deletion

Unread voice, photo and emoji messages expire up to 31 days after server acceptance. After first listening or viewing, they remain available for a further 24 hours. Repeated reading and switching devices do not restart the timer. Other account and service records have different retention needs; this message rule does not mean all account information expires in 24 hours.

Expiry removes normal access under the message lifecycle. Technical cleanup, device caches and backups may take longer. Account, security and operational information is retained only as needed to provide and protect the service, address requests, or meet applicable requirements.

You can manage available account and device settings in the app. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of your information, or if an in-app account action cannot be completed. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.

Service providers and technical information

Bew uses service providers for infrastructure and delivery, including Amazon Web Services for its app backend/storage and Apple for platform and notification services. The website is hosted by Cloudflare. Providers can process information needed to operate their services under their own policies.

The service can process device/session identifiers, notification registration, app and device information, IP addresses and limited operational diagnostics needed for authentication, delivery, security and troubleshooting. We do not request your contacts, precise location or birthday as part of the core communication flow.

This static website has no sign-in, message upload, ad tracker or analytics script. Fonts and illustrative images are served from this site. Cloudflare can process IP addresses, browser information and request logs for hosting and security. If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include.

Children and families

Bew is being developed for close friends and families. Applicable parental involvement, consent and age-appropriate safeguards must be addressed for children’s use. These controls and consent processes are still being developed and tested; this page does not represent them as complete.

Successful Apple or Google sign-in does not establish a person’s age, guardian relationship or the parental consent needed for Bew’s data use. A parent or guardian can contact us about a child’s information, review or deletion request, or withdrawal of participation. We will verify authority as appropriate before responding.

Your choices and contact

We do not sell personal information or use Bew messages for advertising. We do not use this site to collect private messages, recordings or photos. You can choose whether to send content, upload an avatar, add a recovery email, or use available device and notification settings.

We may update this notice as the service changes. The date above identifies this version; material changes will be reflected in the service’s notices as appropriate.
